Hi, I am Lori Fecteau, a licensed massage therapist (License # MT6068) and health educator in Portland, Maine.

For the past two decades, I have been studying and teaching about human health and health behaviors and have concluded that having a proactive plan for managing stress is one of the most powerful tools we have for living an enjoyable life.  Stressful circumstances are inevitable in our lives, so rather than let them control our health and our direction, there are pragmatic actions that we can take to help maintain a sense of calm and well-being, even in the midst of challenges.

Massage therapy is a practical way to reduce physical symptoms of stress, while also setting aside time to recharge mentally. Massage therapy has many health benefits, but my personal favorite is that it serves as a reminder of what your body feels like without tension caused by accumulated daily stress. The pressures in our daily lives often show in our physical holding patterns, such as elevated shoulders, clenched jaw, and head and shoulders curved forward toward our screens. Those patterns can cause pain and tension that begins to uncoil during the massage session.

Each massage session begins with a consultation to ensure your treatment is designed to meet your specific goals. A combination of techniques, including deep tissue, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, cupping, assisted stretching, Swedish, and Thai bodywork are selected to provide a customized experience whether you’re looking to address specific areas of tightness or discomfort or you are just looking to experience deep relaxation.

I look forward to working with you!
